The straight desk in every size the Impulse range makes: 1000mm to 1800mm wide, standard or deep tops, panel end, cantilever and cable managed legs, in every finish we carry. Rectangular desks are the backbone of most Northern Ireland offices for one unglamorous reason: they rearrange. When the team grows, shrinks or shuffles, straight desks re-plan in an afternoon, where rooms full of corner desks are married to their layout.
Choosing a rectangular desk
Size to the work, not the room plan default. 1200mm suits a laptop-and-screen worker, 1400mm is the sweet spot for most jobs, and 1600mm and up earns its floor space for dual screens or paper-heavy roles. Depth is the quiet decision: 800mm sits a monitor at a comfortable distance, while 600mm suits laptops and tight home offices. If you are furnishing a whole floor, one width throughout keeps every future layout possible.
Leg style changes daily life more than looks: the Impulse Straight Desk comes in cantilever (clear knee space, easy cleaning), panel end (solid, draught-blocking) and cable managed legs, which swallow the power strip inside the leg itself. Pair with a mobile pedestal and a desktop screen and one order finishes the whole position. For posture and screen height, a monitor arm does more than any desk upgrade.
Sit stand and matching pieces
If some of the team want to stand, the sit stand desks share finishes with the fixed Impulse range, so a mixed floor still matches. Storage in the same finishes lives under cupboards and bookcases, and for whole-office planning the desking ranges page shows how the families fit together.
Office desks in Belfast and across Northern Ireland
We are Office Interior Solutions, a Belfast company supplying and installing office desks across Northern Ireland: Belfast and greater Belfast, Lisburn, Antrim, Newtownabbey, Bangor, and businesses from Derry to Newry. Delivery and installation are part of the job, not an extra: desks arrive built or are assembled on site, levelled, cable-tidied, with the packaging taken away when we go.
Fitting out an office in Belfast city centre has its own realities: service lifts, loading bays and landlords. We work around all three most weeks. Send us a floor plan and headcount and we will tell you honestly what fits, or ring +44 (0)2890 770019 and talk it through with someone who has installed a few hundred of these across the province.
