A small, particular category: armchairs that turn. The Phoebe swivel accent chair spins a full circle on its base, the Sofia executive chair brings lounge comfort to a desk or a corner, and the Etta dark grey cashmere lounge chair rounds out the trio for the quiet end of the office. A swivel armchair suits the in between spots, close enough to a desk to work at, comfortable enough to sit back in when the laptop closes.
Where a swivel armchair earns its place
Executive offices are the classic home: a Sofia beside the desk gives visitors somewhere better than a spare task chair, and turning to face the door or the window changes the register of a conversation instantly. In receptions and lounges, a swivelling Phoebe lets people angle toward whoever they are talking to without dragging furniture around, which fixed armchairs cannot offer. The Etta is the reading chair of the three, best in the corner where somebody actually sits for half an hour, where comfort outranks the spin.
Give a swivel chair room to do its trick. Allow clear space for the seat to rotate with legs extended, keep it off deep pile rugs that fight the base, and pair it with a side table at elbow height rather than a low table across the room. On hard floors, a felt pad under the base saves the finish.
Building the rest of the corner
These chairs mix well with the sofas and the wider soft seating collection, with an ottoman as footrest or spare seat, and a surface from coffee and occasional tables. For front of house, the reception soft seating range carries the more upright pieces that greet visitors.
Swivel armchairs in Belfast and across Northern Ireland
Office Interior Solutions deliver across Northern Ireland, taking in Belfast, Newtownabbey, Lisburn, Antrim, Bangor, Derry and Newry, to offices and homes alike. Chairs of this sort arrive assembled, get carried to the room and placed, and we leave nothing behind but the chair.
Choosing between the three is mostly a question of the room, so ring +44 (0)2890 770019 and describe the space, or send a photo. If none of the trio fits, we will point you at the right chair elsewhere in the range rather than force the sale.
