Choosing a workstation
The first decision is pedestals: one or two, plain or with an extra drawer. A single fixed pedestal keeps the knee space open on one side and suits most people; two pedestals turn the desk into a self contained office for anyone who still keeps paper. The second decision is legs. Cantilever frames leave the floor clear for pedestals and feet, panel end looks more solid and adds modesty, and the cable managed legs carry power up through the frame for the cleanest install of the three.
The 1600mm width is the standard here, and it carries a monitor arm, a laptop and paperwork without crowding. If a fixed pedestal layout feels too committed, build the same result from a rectangular desk and a mobile unit from pedestals and drawers, which lets the storage move when the layout does.
