Choosing a height adjustable desk
Buy for the room, not the brochure. Singles suit private offices and scattered positions; the Air back-to-back benches share frames and cabling down a spine, which is tidier and quicker to install when you are standing up a whole team. The scalloped edge versions leave a gap for cables and clamps at the back, while slimline frames keep the footprint tight in narrower rooms. If only some of the team want to stand, mixing Air sit stand positions with fixed height rectangular desks in a matching finish is a perfectly sensible compromise.
Cable management decides whether a sit stand desk looks brilliant or awful, because everything on the desk travels up and down with it. Choose the Air versions with cable ports where computers live on the desk, add proper cable management so the loom moves cleanly, and put screens on monitor arms rather than fixed stands so the whole desktop rises as one. The Black Series desks with steel modesty panels keep the underside presentable in open plan.
