Bench desking from the Impulse range: single row runs for desks along a wall, back to back configurations for teams facing each other, in two, four and six person builds with starter units and extension kits to grow the run later. Bench desks share legs between positions, which is why a six person Impulse bench takes less floor space and less steel than six separate rectangular desks pushed together. The wider bench desks section shows the other ranges we carry.
Choosing an Impulse bench setup
Buy the starter, extend with kits. An Impulse starter unit has legs at both ends; each extension kit adds positions using the shared leg of the run before it, so plan for the eventual size of the team, not just today's headcount. Back to back is the efficient choice for open plan floors, putting two rows of people on one spine; single row suits narrower rooms and wall runs where everyone faces the same way.
Cabling makes or breaks a bench. Because positions share a spine, power and data can run the length of the bench once instead of desk by desk, and it is far easier to do during installation than afterwards, so we fit trays and risers from our cable management range as part of the build. If some of the team want to stand, mixing in height adjustable desks at the end of a run works well.
Finishing the run
Most benches get desktop screens between facing positions, partly for noise and partly for the psychological line down the middle. Personal storage goes underneath: one mobile unit per person from pedestals and drawers is the usual recipe.
Impulse bench desks in Belfast and across Northern Ireland
We supply and install Impulse bench desking across Northern Ireland from Belfast, with recent runs fitted in Lisburn, Antrim, Newtownabbey and Bangor as well as further afield in Derry and Newry. Benches arrive as parts and leave our fitters as a finished, level, fully cabled run, with all the packaging gone.
Bench layouts are unforgiving of guesswork, so measure twice, or better still let us do it: send a floor plan or ring +44 (0)2890 770019 and we will confirm exactly what fits, down to the walkway widths.
